**Reasons to Buy**
Friends who have read my previous article should already know that I once made my own H1 projector. However, the place where I can't get a good sound experience is really frustrating. Because of the distance, the projector has to be placed on the side of the bedside table, which means the sound only comes from the side. Especially in the evening, the sound on the side of the projection is too loud, while the sound on the other side, where my wife and adult family members are, is too quiet. This seriously affects the overall experience.

By the way, I want to mention again—this so-called Harman Kardon audio projector is just a label. The actual sound quality doesn’t live up to its name.

So I decided to add a sound system in front of me. I did a lot of research before making the purchase. My wife and others noticed it carefully and said to me, “You want to buy it, the money is already calling you.†From then on, I ordered the Sony SRS-ZR7 directly from JD.com. Although many products on JD.com now come with a seven-day return policy without any explanation, I still appreciate the company’s effort to offer this service.

**Unboxing**

JD.com always delivers fast. The packaging was minimal, and there were some signs of box damage during transport.

After opening the box, I found that the foam was damaged. That was disappointing. There were traces of a second-hand seller, but after checking the unit, it looked like it had never been used and wasn’t tangled.

Included items: audio device, power adapter, power cable, and manual.

**Appearance Gallery**

The speaker is compact, not overly designed. Compared to my homemade speaker, it sounds much better. I used a cigarette as a size reference and compared it with JBL Go and millet speakers for reference.

Overall, it's a square-shaped box with a complete set of ports at the back.

It has Dolby certification, DTS Digital Cinema System, Clear Audio+, and DSEE HX.

Back panel includes 3.5mm audio, USB-A, LAN, HDMI, USB-B, and Bluetooth support.

The edges are very smooth, and it features a Hi-Res Audio gold label.

The top has touch buttons for power, volume, and function selection. The black body is very sensitive to fingerprints and dust.

Function keys are hard to distinguish in the dark. It would be better if they were backlit.

**Connection Methods**

I tested the USB B connection, but after connecting to my computer, the audio was recognized, but playing music caused lag and even crashes. I’m not sure why that happened. If anyone knows, please let me know.

As a long-time user of NetEase Cloud Music (despite current copyright issues), I enjoy listening to music and reading comments. When I opened a membership, I got high-quality lossless sound. But using Bluetooth led to a drop in sound quality, and the difference wasn’t significant.

The only plus is that it supports local QPLAY. QQ Music users will find it convenient. However, even with a paid membership, I couldn’t play lossless music. That’s a bit of a disappointment.
ZR7 also supports HDMI (ARC), but since my projector supports it, I still prefer wired connections. I ended up giving up that option.

The app allows switching connections via phone. Even when turned off, it maintains network connection, making it easy to start up remotely.

**Sound Quality (Usage Scenario)**

When I removed the metal panel, I saw two full-range units on the left and right, and two separate bass drivers in the middle. ZR7 uses a dual-chamber, dual-speaker design with a passive radiator to enhance low frequencies.
I’m not a music expert, but I can tell that when playing high-quality lossless files via USB or QPLAY, the sound quality is significantly better than some of my previous equipment, such as the so-called Harman Kardon projector and the 1999 yuan TV soundbar.

The speaker is placed in the TV cabinet, and the projector connects via Bluetooth (the background image is a wedding photo).
Back to the original purpose of buying this speaker: to improve the audio experience when watching the projector. A wired connection is ideal, but I often have to use Bluetooth, which causes noticeable sound degradation. Distance and the projection’s sound effects also impact the overall experience.

Using Bluetooth to connect the projector to ZR7 and playing music, versus connecting directly via QPLAY from my phone, the difference is obvious even to someone with "wooden ears."

Playing games via Bluetooth also feels unsatisfactory. Game sound effects and character voices mix together, making it hard to distinguish levels clearly.

**Summary**
The ZR7 offers multiple connection options, which suit most users, but not me. Can it support AirPlay? That would be great.
Lossless audio playback is satisfying, but in most cases, I’m forced to use Bluetooth, which limits the experience.
It might work well as a living room audio center. Sony’s Music Center software supports multiple devices connected simultaneously, acting as a tandem speaker.
Powder coated Cable tray
The power coating process involves applying a dry powder to the surface of the cable tray and then heating it to a temperature that causes the powder to melt and form a smooth, even coating.
This coating is then cured, creating a hard, durable finish that is resistant to scratches, corrosion, and other types of damage.
One of the main advantages of power coated cable tray is its ability to withstand harsh environments and extreme temperatures.
It is commonly used in industries such as oil and gas, chemical processing, and power generation, where cables are exposed to high temperatures, corrosive chemicals, and other harsh conditions.
