2. Conditions for Good Soldering

Step-by-step process includes preparation, heating, feeding the solder, removing the wire, and finally removing the iron. The whole process should take about 1–2 seconds for most joints.
6. Specific Soldering Techniques
Keep the tip clean by wiping it regularly. Use a larger contact area to improve heat transfer. A small amount of solder can act as a “bridge†to speed up heating. Remove the iron at the right angle to avoid poor joint formation.
7. Solder Joint Quality and Inspection
A good solder joint should have good electrical contact, mechanical strength, and a neat appearance. Virtual soldering—where the joint is not fully fused—can cause long-term reliability issues. It’s crucial to identify and avoid such defects through proper technique and inspection.
