Millet TV 4A has been a huge hit this year, and now the attention is turning to the new 4C series. Xiaomi has launched the 4C series of Millet TVs exclusively available on Tmall, with 43-inch and 55-inch models priced at 1849 yuan and 2649 yuan respectively (discounted during Double 11). These prices are very close to those of the 4A series (1899 yuan for 43 inches, 2599 yuan for 55 inches). So, which one should you go for: 4A or 4C?
Looking at the 55-inch Millet TV 4C, its configuration is largely similar to the 4A. The main difference lies in the design. The base returns to a simple herringbone pattern, which looks more refined than the 4A's design. The front panel features a narrower frame, just 0.9 cm wide. Additionally, the plastic shell has been upgraded to a piano paint finish, while the 4A uses an etching process with a matte effect. This makes the 4C look more premium. However, I noticed that the infrared sensor on the 4C is located on the left side of the camera (facing the TV), whereas the 4A places it in the center of the bottom frame. This change might be a downside when it comes to integrating power switches and other functions.
Now, looking at the 43-inch version of the 4C, the hardware specs are slightly worse compared to the 4A. The most noticeable difference is the storage: the 4C comes with 1GB RAM and 8GB storage, while the 4A offers 2GB RAM and 8GB storage. Although the 4C is 50 yuan cheaper, the reduced performance might not justify the price difference. The design improvements include an arched base and a piano paint finish, but these don't compensate for the weaker internal specs.
In summary, the 4C and 4A are quite similar, with only minor design changes. The 43-inch model of the 4C has slightly weaker specs, so if the 4A's price drops further during the Double 11 sale, it would be the better choice.
