If you read my article two months ago, you might have noticed that I used to avoid the term “sleek and slim†and instead referred to it as “Almighty.†Later, I introduced the concept of an “all-powerful book,†which led to some confusion. Many students even interpreted it as a universal guide! So, I’m going to explain this again to clarify things.
Thin and light laptops generally have a slim body and decent performance, with high value for money. However, their gaming performance is still not up to par, so they aren’t ideal for heavy standalone games or games like League of Legends (LoL).
I’ve always been puzzled about why I’ve written so many articles and recommended so many models, yet there are still fans who don’t know what to choose. After reviewing, I realized the problem was that I might have recommended too many models without a clear focus. This article aims to fix that by giving more focused recommendations and ensuring each laptop I suggest is something I truly love.
Let’s start with the conclusion first—most people don’t bother reading past the top section.
**13-inch:** Lenovo New Trend 7000-13
**14-inch:** Dell 7000 II, ASUS U4100UN
**15-inch:** Xiaomi Notebook Pro, HP Changyou 15
Starting with the most popular 14-inch models: these typically come with a combination of SSD and HDD storage, offering ample space and easy upgrades. They are the go-to choice for most users. Here are a few models I think are worth considering:
**Dell 7000 II**
Currently priced at 5,699 yuan on JD.com (lowest at 5,499). It features an 8th-gen Core i5 + MX150 GPU, suitable for mainstream online games but not for heavy titles like "Garena." The build quality is good, and it has decent cooling. The screen covers 45% NTSC color gamut, making it unsuitable for photo editing.
**Acer TMX349**
Available for 4,699 yuan (lowest at 4,499). This is the cheapest model in my recommendations and not advised if bought below that price. It's a business-oriented model with a balanced configuration, perfect for basic office and learning tasks. If you need more power for professional software or gaming, consider upgrading.
**HP Changyou 14**
Priced at 5,699 yuan (lowest at 5,499). It comes with an 8th-gen Core i5 + 940MX GPU. While the performance tuning is conservative, it's still capable of handling everyday tasks. The screen is average (45% NTSC), not ideal for retouching, but the sound quality is decent.
**Lenovo New Trend 7000-14**
Currently priced at 5,699 yuan (lowest at 5,299). It features an 8th-gen Core i5 + 940MX GPU. Similar to the HP Changyou 14 and the Dell 7000 II, it offers comparable build quality and pricing. The screen is also similar, with dual drives available. If you're looking for better graphics, the burning 7000 is a better option.
**ASUS U4000UQ**
Available for 5,999 yuan (lowest at 5,699). It uses a 7th-gen low-voltage Core i5 + 940MX GPU. This model is known for its expandability, allowing upgrades to memory, SSD, and HDD. The screen quality is good (72% NTSC), making it one of the best 14-inch options under 6,000 yuan. However, the audio is average, and heat dissipation could be improved.
For notebooks over 6,000 yuan, the build quality and screen are generally better, though they often lack mechanical hard drives.
**ASUS U4100UN**
Currently priced at 6,999 yuan (lowest at 6,799). It features an 8th-gen low-voltage Core i5 + MX150 GPU, making it powerful for a thin and light laptop. The metal body is well-crafted, and the screen is excellent (72% NTSC). It weighs just 1.25kg, but lacks a mechanical drive and may struggle with high-load tasks. The i7 version includes fingerprint recognition.
**Lenovo YOGA 710-14**
Priced at 6,499 yuan (lowest at 6,299). It uses a 7th-gen low-voltage Core i5 + 940MX GPU. The screen is great (touch-enabled), and it can handle basic photo editing. The YOGA series offers multiple modes, making it versatile. Overall, it’s a solid choice unless you need the latest tech.
**Not Recommended:**
**ASUS S4000UA** – Great screen (72% NTSC), but poor build quality and weak gaming performance.
**ASUS S4100UQ** – Unattractive design, subpar screen (TN panel, 1366x768), and overall poor performance.
**13-inch models** are usually compact and elegant, with high-quality screens. However, they often lack mechanical hard drives, so consider a portable drive for large data storage. Here are a few options:
**Xiaomi Notebook Air 13**
Currently priced at 5,199 yuan (lowest at 4,999). It features a 7th-gen low-voltage Core i5 + MX150 GPU. This is one of the best 13-inch laptops in its price range, with excellent screen quality (72% NTSC) and strong performance. It’s great for photo editing and casual gaming. Xiaomi also has good after-sales support.
**Lenovo New Trend 7000-13**
Priced at 5,699 yuan (lowest at 5,499). It has an 8th-gen Core i5 + MX150 GPU, with a slim body (1.2kg) and good build quality. The screen is 72% NTSC, making it suitable for retouching. It’s ideal for students or professionals who want a lightweight, powerful machine.
**HP ENVY 13**
Currently priced at 6,599 yuan (lowest at 6,399). It features an 8th-gen low-voltage Core i5 + MX150 GPU. The build quality is excellent, and the screen is good, though performance is somewhat limited due to the compact design. It’s a great choice for those who prioritize style and portability.
For **15-inch models**, performance is stronger than smaller ones, but still not ideal for heavy games. Here are a few options:
**HP Changyou 15**
Priced at 5,899 yuan (lowest at 5,599). It features an 8th-gen low-voltage Core i5 + MX150 GPU, with a dual-drive setup. The build quality is good, but the screen isn’t ideal for retouching. No backlit keyboard, but it’s a solid choice for general use.
**Dell Ling Yue 7570**
Priced at 5,999 yuan (lowest at 5,999). It has an 8th-gen Core i5 + 940MX GPU, with a larger body that allows better performance. It’s suitable for light rendering work, but the screen quality is average.
**HP ENVY x360**
Priced at 6,999 yuan (lowest at 6,799). A rare 15-inch convertible with a touch screen and 8th-gen Core i5 + MX150 GPU. The screen is excellent, making it suitable for design work. However, the GPU is slightly weaker than expected.
**Xiaomi Notebook Pro**
Currently priced at 5,599 yuan (lowest at 5,599). It features an 8th-gen Core i5 + MX150 GPU, with better performance and build quality than the Air 13. It’s ideal for video and image editing, though it’s harder to find.
**Not Recommended:**
**ASUS FX8000UQ/FL8000UN** – Outdated design, weak performance, and poor screen quality.
**Lenovo New Trend 5000** – Basic specs, outdated design, and not recommended for serious use.
That’s it! I hope this helps you make a better decision when choosing your next laptop. Let me know if you need more details or help with anything else!
