Internet of Things (IoT) related chip market wars are fully launched. Global chip makers Intel, Samsung Electronics, Qualcomm and MediaTek are targeting IoT business opportunities, competing to launch related chip products, despite the current weight. Qualcomm IoT chips lock in the fields of drones and smart cars. Qualcomm recently unveiled the drone chipset Snapdragon Flight through the drones of mainland operators such as Tencent and Zero Intelligence. Qualcomm also launched a smart car chipset. The Snapdragon 820A provides advanced navigation assistance systems (ADAS) for car navigation and assists customers such as Audi and BMW using Qualcomm Automotive Application Processors (AP) to develop autonomous driving functions.

Qualcomm plans to expand the market for IoT chips through its existing wireless communication chip product customer base.
