Danfengmen is the south gate of Tang Daming Palace. It is located on the central axis of Xi'an. It is not a replica of Tang Dynasty architecture, but a giant modern symbol of technology, art and distance from the Tang Dynasty. The protection and display of this site will reproduce the grandeur of Danfengmen in the Tang Dynasty and become an important symbol of the Daming Palace National Heritage Park and even Xi'an.

The design of the Danfengmen Site Protection Project was designed by Ms. Zhang Jinqiu, the chief architect of China Architecture Northwest Design Institute and academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering. As one of the key restoration projects of the Daming Palace National Heritage Park, the investment was 130 million yuan, which lasted more than 9 months.

Like the famous Tiananmen Square in Beijing, Danfengmen has five doorways. Each doorway is 9.4 meters wide and the doorway is 3 meters wide. Its size, width of the doorway and length of the road are the most archaeological sites in the Sui and Tang Dynasties. The entire Danfeng Gate is 200 meters long and is used by the archaeological community. Known as "the first door of the Tang Dynasty."
