Accolade has launched its third-generation dual-port 100G network ANIC-200Ku PCIe lossless packet acquisition adapter, powered by Xilinx UltraScale FPGA technology. This advanced device is capable of real-time analysis of up to 32 million network data streams, offering precise time-stamping at 4 nanoseconds per packet. With a power consumption of only around 50W, the ANIC-200Ku is both efficient and powerful. It features two CFP4 optical cage interfaces, enabling direct connection between two units to create a 200Gbps lossless high-aggregation network.

The ANIC-200Ku is designed for a wide range of applications, including:

This next-generation adapter integrates an advanced packet processor within the Xilinx UltraScale FPGA, allowing real-time processing of network traffic. A notable enhancement in the third generation is the inclusion of a packet-flow-shunting module. This feature enables intelligent classification of incoming packets, helping to filter out unnecessary traffic before it reaches the server. By doing so, it reduces the load on the server’s CPU and minimizes storage demands, ultimately lowering data center costs and improving efficiency.

The packet processor on the ANIC-200Ku board performs multiple critical functions, including those highlighted in the red section of the diagram. Each data stream entry contains standard header information such as source and destination IP addresses, protocol type, and raw data like total packet count and byte size. The packet classification module identifies whether a packet belongs to a new or existing data stream, updating a lookup table (LUT) accordingly. It also tracks the direction of the data flow to maintain bidirectional communication, effectively reducing the amount of data that needs to be processed or stored. This capability acts as a network-level filter, freeing up server resources for more critical tasks.
