Frankly speaking, I personally are very satisfied with the overall design of the first generation of 55-inch, but this new machine all-metal ultra-thin body is indeed more impressive. The microwhale said that this product has just won the "China Good Design" Gold Award. I checked this award, which is a brand-new international design award specifically for China initiated by the German Red Dot Awards. Its gold medal is quite weighty and the micro whale 55K2 is the only gold medal in the current television category!
I have two old and new 55-inch TVs with the same one-corner coin as the contrast screen. We can see that the screen thickness of the new whale 55K2 is only about 2/3 of the previous generation, which is about 9.9mm. In fact, the micro whale 55K2 uses the currently popular "super slim, components placed on the bottom of the screen" approach, so give people the first impression is "like a blade," the ultra-thin side. In fact, whether it is watching still photos or watching video programs, whether viewed from the perspective of contrast, layering, or color saturation, the screens presented by the Microwhale 55K2 screen are more “live†than the previous generation. . Moreover, in the "black" display, the new machine will obviously be darker due to the higher contrast, while the older models will appear somewhat gray. Although I don't know at the moment which of the screen panels the MicroWhale 55K2 is offering, there is no doubt that its performance is indeed better than the previous generation.
In addition, according to official sources, the Cortex-A53 quad-core processor used by the Microwhale 55K2 has improved its performance by more than 70% over the previous generation. Therefore, whether the new machine is watching 4K videos, opening applications, or playing games will be very smooth and non-stopping. But I actually feel that even the last generation of products is fast enough, especially if I don’t play Android, it’s hard to see the difference – the speed at which two TVs open an app or open a video Almost the same. But in the end I was still finding a clear difference:
When the same video was opened, the speed at which the two televisions loaded the file and started playing was indeed a bit faster with the Microwhale 55K2, but the old K1 was actually not much slower. But if you use the remote control to quickly drag or rewind the progress bar at this time, the old whale 55K1 will have a rotation icon on the screen to perform some calculations before it starts playing at the point you choose. But the same operation is almost “seconds on†in the Microwhale 55K2: no matter what position you drag the progress bar to, or how often you drag back and forth, just release the fast-forward button and the TV immediately starts from this point. There is almost no pause and delay when starting to play!
I later went to the downloaded “Sofa Manager†app and gave two TVs a point. The result was that the 55k2 scored more than 16,000 points and the previous generation model scored almost 9XXX. Although the difference between the two was not as great as 70%. But it can indeed be seen that there are significant differences in performance.
In addition, the new MicroWhale 55K2 has increased its capacity to 32GB, compared to its predecessor, with almost no practical 4GB of built-in storage. So, theoretically, we can use the app or the TV browser to download the video locally to the TV without having to attach a removable storage device. I also simply compared the sound quality of the new and old products. The conclusion is that the new machine is slightly lighter than the previous generation but the midrange vocal part will be more clear and prominent. However, because the built-in sound of the first generation of micro-whale products is good, and I usually play on an external sound system, this small upgrade is a good one.
To sum up: Obviously, please do not use the eyes of a flagship 4K HDR TV (such as the cable products I have been very fond of) to evaluate the micro whale 55K2. After all, this is a fraction of the price of a flagship product or even ten. A fraction of the popular models. However, even so, the Microwhale 55K2 can still provide a very beautiful design, the overall performance of the sound picture quality and the well-received operating system + rich library. Therefore, such a TV set has indeed been able to satisfy most of the family's demand for smart TVs, and it is no wonder that the micro whale will promote it as the most important model at the end of this year.
After watching the performance of the Micro Whale 55K2, I did indeed have a “steal the way†to replace the 55-inch old and small whale in the bedroom with the 55k2 of this micro-whale – after all, the appearance of the new machine was slimmer and the picture quality was more outstanding. .
