LeTV has been making headlines today, with the controversy surrounding Jia Yueting at the center of the storm. On December 25th, the Beijing Securities Regulatory Bureau issued a formal notice ordering Jia Yueting to return to China by December 31, 2017. The notice emphasized that he must fulfill his duties as the actual controller of LeTV, address the company's ongoing issues, manage risks effectively, and protect the rights of investors. The bureau pointed out that Jia Yueting failed to honor his commitment to provide interest-free loans to the listed company during a critical financial period. A previous administrative supervision measure was issued, but Jia has not taken any action or submitted a correction report. Earlier in September 2017, the Beijing Securities Regulatory Commission had also ordered Jia to return to China immediately to manage the company's risks. Despite this, no concrete steps were taken. Jia is currently detained overseas due to his involvement in automotive investments and financing activities. The companies he controls owe significant amounts to LeTV and have yet to repay these debts, causing serious harm to the company and its shareholders. In addition, on September 7, 2017, the Supreme People's Court's China Executive Information Network listed LeTV Holdings and LeSport Mobile Intelligent Information Technology as defaulters. Jia Yueting remains the legal representative of LeTV Holdings despite being overdue on his obligations. On December 11, the Third Intermediate People's Court of Beijing officially designated Jia as a defaulter. The Beijing Securities Regulatory Bureau’s notice clearly states that Jia must return to China by the end of 2017 to fulfill his responsibilities, cooperate with the company in resolving its challenges, and ensure the protection of investor interests.
