Sony Interactive Entertainment (Shanghai) recently announced that the Revolution Pro Controller 2, a new gaming controller developed in collaboration with Nacon—a leading manufacturer of interactive entertainment and game peripherals—will be available in China by the end of January 2018. This updated controller is designed to work seamlessly with both PS4 and PC platforms, offering enhanced performance and customization options for gamers.
The controller features a USB Type-C port for wired connectivity, ensuring fast and stable data transfer. It retains the standard layout of the PS4 controller, including the complete analog sticks and touchpad. However, the left analog stick has been reconfigured with an asymmetrical design, allowing for a 46-degree movement range, which improves precision during gameplay.
The side buttons, trigger mechanisms, and D-pad have all been redesigned for better ergonomics and responsiveness. Additionally, the controller includes four customizable back shortcuts, making it more versatile for different types of games. It also comes with dual vibration motors for immersive haptic feedback and a 3.5mm headphone jack for direct audio output.
Players can further personalize their experience with six extra weight modules and two adjustable weights, allowing them to fine-tune the controller's feel according to their preferences. The device supports three distinct operation modes: PS4 Professional (blue), PS4 Advanced (red), and PC Advanced (violet). Gamers can easily identify the mode by checking the LED color on the right analog stick.
According to Sony’s official information, the Revolution Pro Controller 2 is fully compatible with all PS4 and PC games. Through dedicated PC and Mac applications, users can customize the joystick response curve, trigger sensitivity, and button mapping to suit their individual playstyles.
