I recently worked on repairing a Sony KDL-46W5500 LCD TV. The issue was that the TV would start up normally, but after about one minute, a full-screen vertical bar appeared. The position and number of the bars didn't change even when tapping the screen. Restarting the TV didn’t help either — the vertical bars remained in the same place. When I accessed the menu, the characters also showed vertical bars. To narrow down the problem, I used an exclusion method by connecting a universal LCD motherboard to the logic board. The vertical bars were still present, which indicated that the issue wasn’t with the motherboard. Since the image was normal for the first minute after booting, I suspected a component on the logic board had poor thermal stability. Considering the cost and the risk involved, replacing the logic board seemed like the most efficient solution. I contacted an online seller, and after a quick discussion, they agreed to let me try the part with a return option if it didn’t work. This made the process much easier and less risky. Even though there's a chance of losing some money due to return shipping, I believe it's worth it for the experience and learning. After all, if you want to make money, you have to take risks. You can't expect to succeed without investing time and effort. The new logic board arrived the next morning. I carefully removed the old one and installed the new one. After connecting the signal, everything worked perfectly! It was a great success, and the income from this repair was quite satisfying. Here are the final few pictures to show the result:
