Its protection is mainly reflected in the following two aspects:

First, the maximum current is limited. When the current is greater than the limit current, power-off protection is performed to prevent the battery from being burned. For example, the custom-designed Li-ion battery protection board for rapeseed is for continuous 9A discharge. The over-discharge current is 20A. Once the current reaches 20A, it will be protected against power failure. So if you accidentally short the battery. The protection board will be protected against power failure to prevent the battery from being burned.

The second is the charge and discharge voltage protection. The overcharge and overdischarge of a lithium battery will cause the battery to decay rapidly and even deteriorate. The general battery charge and discharge voltage is between 4.25-2.7V. Therefore, when charging, the function of the protection board is to monitor the voltage of each string of batteries. If any string of batteries is higher than 4.25V, the circuit is disconnected to stop charging. When discharging, it is the opposite, monitor the lowest voltage, if any string of batteries is lower than 2.7V, disconnect the power supply circuit.

1, power

The output power of the protection board is greater than the power used.

2. Is it balanced?

The general equilibrium board will be more expensive than the unbalanced board. Without considering the money, under the same current, it must be the balance board. The role of the equalizer board is to balance the battery during charging to ensure that the capacity and voltage of each battery string are the same. The series connection of lithium batteries follows the principle of a cask. The discharge capacity of a battery depends on the battery with the lowest capacity and voltage in series.

Since my 12V10AH lithium battery is currently mainly used for car washing, the number of uses is not much, so I bought a 9A protection board with no balance, 50A is ready to assemble high-end point with a balanced function.

In addition, the protection board eventually protects the battery. If your protection board has a maximum current of 9A, your selected battery will only support 5A discharge. At this time, if the current is too large, it is not the protection board but the battery which is burned out, which does not achieve the protection function, so the protection board also needs to be determined according to the actual discharge current capacity of the battery.

Refused to rush to find a suitable housing

The next step is to find a suitable housing that holds the cell and protective plate. It is portable and dustproof and waterproof. After all, I use it on car washes. Without shell protection, it's easy to go wrong.

The 12V lithium battery assembly steps mainly include the following five steps: 1. Battery cell equalization

Since the rapeseed's battery is an idle lithium battery cell, the consistency of the battery is not exactly the same. So mainly test the internal resistance and capacity. Try to keep the internal resistance and capacity of the three strings of batteries relatively consistent.

First, the internal resistance test was performed with an internal resistance tester. The internal resistance was basically 13-15mΩ. The capacity test was performed and the capacity was between 9500-9700mah. Relatively consistent. In addition, I discharged the voltage of each string to 2.7 V. After I assembled it, the battery pack was charged at 12.6 V. After the test, the voltage of each group was tested for consistency. If you don't have a discharge meter, you can reverse it and put every battery fully charged, and then you can assemble it in series.

2, battery series

After the batteries are the same, they can be connected in series. Prior to tandem connection, it is recommended that the battery strings be fixed together so that the circuit can be fixed and the electrodes will not be damaged during movement.

Fix three strings of batteries with fiber tape, and then wrap the battery outside with a bare paper. The protection is, after all, a soft pack battery, not the 18650.

Then the bottom of this soft pack battery often leaks, so you must add a shock absorber. Take the foam tape to stick the layer as a shock absorber. In this way, the bottom will not be easily shaken.

The series connection is the start of the A battery. The negative electrode is empty. This is the negative electrode of the battery. The positive electrode of the B monomer is the negative electrode of the B monomer. The positive electrode of the B monomer is the negative electrode of the C monomer. Then the positive electrode of the C monomer is left. It is the positive electrode of the battery pack.

3, battery protection board welding

The welding of the battery protection board mainly follows the wiring specification of the protection board. Special attention must be paid to not connecting the wrong wire. If the connection is wrong, it may be a short circuit, and the large current will easily burn the protection board.

It should be noted that the lines connecting the positive and negative electrodes of the battery and the output positive and negative electrodes must be thick, and they will not be burned when high current flows. The rated current of the wire should exceed the limiting current of the protection plate as much as possible.

Extremely demanding electrical conductivity is better, so I use 10 amps of copper.



The internal wiring can be as short as possible. On the one hand, on the one hand, the line loss is small, and the resistance is not easy to generate heat. On the other hand, the interior is relatively simple, reducing the cross between the wires and reducing the potential short-circuit hazards during subsequent use. Many people will feel that anyway, the wire is covered with insulation and it's okay to rub it all together. Normally it's okay. Once a large current is involved, the temperature of the wire will increase. Even if it is a high-temperature silicone wire, the insulation will become very fragile. A sharp object squeezes the wire, which can easily cause a short circuit.

4, battery function test

After the cable is connected, it is to test whether the voltages at the positive and negative poles of the output of the protection board are the same as the voltages at the positive and negative poles of the battery pack. If they are inconsistent, then it is necessary to check whether the wiring problem or the protection board faults.

Testing before loading the box is mainly to find problems at this time, and it is no longer necessary to rework the box to check it out.

5, the battery box is completed

After the test is completed, after the battery pack and the protection board are fully charged and discharged, they can be fixed in a box, must be fixed properly, and be properly shock-absorbed. The battery and the battery should be left as far as possible to allow space for thermal expansion and contraction. Buffering. It is impossible to charge and discharge the battery to expand and contract. The huge pressure will cause the battery core to be crushed.

Because it was previously discharged to protection, it was charged after it was installed. It is 12.43V after filling.
