Japanese building uses three primary colors of colored LED flash wall

Japan's Toda Construction, together with Japan Glass and Japan's MIY-ACHI, has successfully developed a flash wall with a glass surface that emits various colors of lighting. It has been applied to the outer wall of the Ginza Apple Building on the 6th floor of Tokyo Ginza. This device was applied to 75 wall panels with a front width of 4 m and a height of 22 m. The back of the glass is a gypsum board, which can be controlled by computer to achieve various effects, such as grading the overall color, or moving the color combination.

The light source is a color LED having three primary colors of red, green and blue. The upper and lower ends of the glass are respectively embedded with LED elements arranged in a row. In the case of pure transparent glass, the light is transmitted directly from the inside, so in order to illuminate the glass surface, a fine ceramic dot pattern is imprinted on the back surface of the glass. In order to make it emit beautiful light, a glass material with high transparency is used.

Since the glass itself is transparent, if it is used for an opening such as a window, the field of view and daylight can be ensured during the day, and the effect can be changed by emitting various colors at night. However, due to the greater intensity of the interior lighting, the blinds or curtains must be pulled down when the window is illuminated. The life of the LED is said to be about 100,000 hours, basically no maintenance is required. Since the LED is embedded in the window frame, the position of the light source is not required, and the installation space is almost the same as ordinary glass. However, the current problem is that the cost is still relatively high, which is slightly higher than the stone surface in the dry construction method.
