"Eastern Energy Company", a subsidiary of Russia's International Unified Power Systems (InterRAOUES), said that the company has signed a 25-year power supply contract with the State Grid Corporation of China. The company will export electricity to China through 110 kV transmission lines and 220 kV transmission lines and the new “Amur-Heihe†500 kV transmission line.
The report said: "In the next 25 years, Russia's power supply to China will reach an estimated 100 billion kilowatt-hours."
The new power supply contract will be implemented from March 1, 2012. This year, Eastern Energy plans to supply more than 2.6 billion kilowatt hours of power to China.
In 2011, Russia’s cumulative export of electricity to China was 1.2 billion kWh.
